Auckland's Aotea Square
is a 15 min walk up queen street. Visit this week on 5th Oct at 1pm to view Digi-Dance which is a non-ticketed event. The closest restaurant for dinning are Tony Steaks seafood restaurant and bar, Elliot stables, Besos Latino and Gasto at the Grand.
Current exhibition is Voyage to Aotearoa, Tupaia and the Endeavor. This is free with Museum entry. You can immerse your self with Tupaia, the Tahitian navigator and artist as he journeys on the Endeavor to Aotearoa New Zealand. There is a cafe located in the Museum for refreshments otherwise the suburb of Parnell located close to the museum has a good variety of restaurants.
Auckland Maritime Museum
Go sailing this week on the Waitemate Harbour. See the city skyline, Sky Tower and Auckland Harbour Bridge from the sea. Ted Ashby is a ketch-rigged deck scow, typical of the fleet of scows that once operated in northern New Zealand waters.
